LA & ER
On Sat we went to LA to surprise Scott for his 30th B-day. Heidi had set up an elaborate plan to surprise Scott. She told him that they were going somewhere for his b-day, instead we were at the airport waiting for them. From there we went to there house and walked to a bar a couple blocks away where the shoulder dislocating bus was waiting for us along with 20 of his friends. We got on the bus and went to the Poop Deck to grab some beers. Waiting for us there were Scott's Parents, sister and brother in law, friends from MN and CA. After that we picked up Dane at another bar and were off to dinner. By this time it was 6 or 6:30. We had a couple drinks are were ready for some dinner. About that time, while on the bus Scott's friend Billy told me that Erica had just dislocated her shoulder.
She was just riding like everyone else holding on to the rail over her and her shoulder popped out. We were just about to the restaurant and so we called the ambulance. They arrived shortly and wanted to put a sling on her arm but they did not have one. Really well prepared. She was in great pain and but they were not really concerned about that. They put her on the gurney and wheeled her to the ambulance. While they were putting her in back they seemed to hit every bump and all the bars. Then instead of a short ride to the near by ER we had to got 7 miles to one that was not as busy. When we got there shortly after 7 and the morphine not kicking in yet we waited and waited. X-Rays happened about 8 and then more morphine. It finally began to work about 8:30. It wasn't until 11 that we were visited by a doctor. After he came it only took about 30 minutes until they popped her shoulder back in and she started feeling better. We got released at 12:30 and low and behold the bus came to pick us up.
The next day we sat around and watched football and played wii. Erica got her medicine and began feeling less pain. Monday we toured around a little bit and took our flight home. Erica had to go see a doctor on Tuesday. She gave good news saying that Erica would not need surgery. They gave her a new immobilizer and we were on our way. Erica took the rest of the week off and returned to work the next Monday with minimum pain. Her arm is healing and getting stronger by the day.
We are now just preparing for Christmas away from our families and our first together. We have sent out gifts and done much shopping on-line. Our tree is small but and has a few packages underneath. This weekend we are going to see the Heceta Head light house. They light it up during the holidays and have a Victorian Christmas theme.
Happy Holidays!!

Seattle and Beyond
Hello Everyone. We finally got internet so we can publish on our blog more often.
We went to Seattle last weekend for a couple days. It was a six hour drive but we deciced to take the scenic route on the way up. We got there on Friday night and toured around the area we were staying. We were about four blocks from the Space Needle. The Seattle Center was in that area as well and since Winterfest was going on there was plenty to do and look at. They had rides and vendors and all kinds other fun things. The lights were very nice and the Space Needle made a nice back drop. After we toured around we went out to eat at the Melting Pot. We had some fondue and even some fondon'ts. It was a nice unique place for dinner.
The next day we got up early and walked down to the peir. It was nice to have a centrally located hotel. We parked our car on Friday night and didn't have to drive it at all until we left on Sunday. Any way we walked to the peir and walked through a sculptue park, it is amazing some of the stuff that passes as art. After walking down by the peir and hitting up a Starbucks, weird we would find one there. Honestly there is one every 6 to 8 blocks, its crazy. I'm hungry, we ate a little while ago but I could go for a cookie. After our cup of joe we went up to the Pikes Market Place. There were tons of vendors there and the crowds were crazy. We went to the fish market and saw them through fish around. It was pretty cool. For all of you who have worked at Fridays and had to watch the video, I think all those guys got fired. They were all clean cut and not hung over. Little disappointing but still very neat.
We went from there to the Duck Boat tour. It was a 90 minute tour around Seattle and then into Lake Union. It floated. After that we went up the Space Needle. It was about an hour before the sun went down so we saw Seattle from above in day light and then in the dark with the light up skyline. Real neat. After the Needle started swaying because there were too many people on one side we got the h*** out of there and went to dinner.
We ate at the Crab Pot. We ordered the Westport. It was a mix of broiled king crab, dungenous crab, shrimp, mussels and clams. The put paper down on the table and dumped the food there. All we had for utinsels were a little baby fork and a mallet to smash the crab legs with. We wore bibs, it was fun. Still haven't got a cookie.
The next day we took a ferry across the Puget Sound to Bremerton. It was nice but foggy. The drive home seemed long but we made it home just in time to watch the Vikings beat the Bears. Good Times.
This week we are taking it easy and trying to save some money. On Monday night we did have a happening. Our power went out at about nine p.m. pst. We only had one candle in the house and no flash light. We heard that some times when the power goes out it happens for days. We went to the store to get more candles after about 1/2 hour of sitting in the dark. The power went on shortly after 10:30. We are prepared for next time. Well hope you are caught up. I am going to get a cookie.
